Women in Construction Awards 2025

Maybe She Can. She Did.

More Than an Awards Night

The Women in Construction Awards 2025 was an evening of spectacular celebration, held under the glittering chandeliers of the Royal Lancaster London. More than a ceremony, this event, hosted by Design and Build UK, marked a pivotal moment in the industry’s history. It was a declaration that the future of the built environment is also female, inclusive, and driven by unparalleled talent.

The spirit of the night was captured in four powerful words: “Maybe She Can.”

This phrase wasn’t just a theme—it was a challenge to the old barriers and a ringing affirmation of the extraordinary achievements of women in construction. From breaking ground on sites to breaking glass ceilings in the boardroom, the evening spotlighted those who have not only succeeded but have fundamentally changed the narrative of the industry.

Highlighting Those who Make a Difference

The awards were the vision of Design and Build UK’s Managing Director, Michaela Wain, who created the initiative to encourage more women into the sector by showcasing the success of those already within it.

“I have always been a believer that in order to support more women in construction, we need to put more effort into highlighting their achievements,” Michaela Wain shared on the night.

Now in its fourth year, the event has grown into one of the most significant celebrations in the sector, attracting over 1,500 nominations and proving that the appetite for change is not only real but thriving. The ceremony featured an inspiring line-up, including a powerful keynote from Steffan Battle, Managing Director at Wates, who reinforced that an inclusive culture is the foundation for innovation and excellence. The evening’s soundtrack was provided by the unique sound of The Untold Orchestra.
